About Our Science Center Volunteer Program
We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help support our hands-on science programs for kids. Whether assisting with animal care, helping with building projects, or guiding children in using science tools like microscopes, your involvement makes a meaningful difference. Volunteering with us is a great way to share your love of science, connect with the community, and inspire young learners. If you’re interested in helping out, we’d love to hear from you!

"I am a high school intern at the Bedford Science Center where I am taking classes through Pet Partners to get my guinea pig therapy certification. Having the opportunity to work with the animals in the science center has helped me throughout my courses greatly. I am very grateful for this opportunity that I could not get elsewhere."

"I am a digital media major at Endicott College and interning at the Bedford Science Center has been an overall wonderful experience. I was afforded the opportunity to create the website and expand their online presence, so even as someone not in involved with S.T.E.M, I still was able to get professional experience to add to my skillset. ”
Our Team Isn't Just Limited
to Humans...
The Bedford Science Center is home to a family of animals that live on land and in water! We have two WONDERFUL guinea pigs, Agnes and Oreo, an always-smiling bearded dragon, three chickens, crested geckos, and marine animals in our touch tank. Students can often be found with these little critters before their classes either petting them for stress relief or tending to their various needs!
